We were surprised to find a "soft" announcement from Royal Alexander in this article where he states...
"Poor planning and poor administration by the attorney general's office are the hallmarks of the Foti regime, not to mention the politics-based decision-making process that seems to turn up at every corner," Alexander said in a written statement that launched his campaign. "We can't afford another four years of 'Keystone Cops' style leadership."
Does this mean Alexander has gotten the backing of key republicans? What say you?
On another note...it looks like the Tuesday Alexandria City Council meeting will again be filled with interest...you know with all of those mayoral assistant positions and all. Stay tuned to public access, we're told no on air comments to KALB are forthcoming. Hum...was it something we said?

Yes Michelle the mayor and his administration is afraid of you and you have not figured that out yet - this is not good - pay attention - ask the hard questions now before we all loose faith in you
Keep your powder dry and don't beg. When they put on a hostile and disfunctional display at their meetings they look to the press to air their side of the story and save face. Run the circus on your video blog and let them come to you.
Hold on to your pocketbooks Alex, Roy will go through the surplus in a heartbeat with all the assistants, etc. Before you know it you're going to be having more new taxes, it's the American Democrat mantra.
Can you talk to somebody in the know that can tell us what Myron Lawson's Southern University abdication really means? I am unable to make sense out of any of the articles, including the Advocate's, on why Myron had to step down and what the effect of the Board's obstruction of the Governor's investigation will mean.
Boy you've got me. It sounds as if the board is in a bind over sexual harassment charges and perhaps Mr. Lawson is trying to distance himself from the investigation. I have a list of questions I was to present to Lawson via email and now there are several added. Every time I want to send my questions, I get another email with yet another question. No doubt, this article will generate more questions than answers.
This town can be really ridiculous some times. People want a strong mayor who can keep the council in check.
Randolph never had the staff necessary to run the multi-million dollar corporation known as the city of Alexandria.
Has anyone been able to associate a legitimate function with Lamar White? What DO he DO?
Why don't you ask him yourself?
Michele, I don't understand why Myron Lawson would need to step down from the Southern board. He fought to keep his position on the board whenever he was elected to the city council. The position is obviously important to him, and if he hadn't done anything improper, why would he step down over a sexual harassment charge against Johnny Anderson? I don't get it. He says the reason he stepped down is because he worked closely with Anderson. What does that mean? Is he involved in the sexual harassment allegations himself? Someone said it before... this doesn't make any sense. Lawson's never been upfront with us about his business dealings, and now he's become involved in a sexual harassment scandal that made the front page of the Advocate today. What an embarrassment to Alexandria.
i agree... it's a total embarrassment.
Michele, when you interview Lawson you may wish to ask him about his difficulties in the democrat party which stem, in part, for him fraudulently ciculating a party ballot that suggested that Harry Silver, a republican, was a democrat and had the endorsement of the party. This guy is such a crook. Talk to anybody on the dem. central committee.
