Gambling coming to Grant Parish...

We learned today that the Jena Band of Choctaw Indians has cleared the way for a casino in the Town of Creola. Here is the link to the story and a copy of the press release.

Personally, I think it's great.

Gambling is like the camel who gets his nose under the tent. Before long, you have the whole camel in the tent with you.

Well, Louisiana let the gambling nose get under the tent and now we have to deal with the camel. For better or for worse, gambling is legal in Louisiana and as in all other enterprises, competition is a valuable commodity.

SOrry about all the mixed metaphors, but we better learn how to deal with gambling. It's not going away.
